Photograph of the Japanese Training Ship Nippon Maru, signed by Captain Nobumochi Shiota. The ship was built in 1930 and was a training ship for cadets of the Japanese merchant marine and became a museum ship in 1984. It is docked in Yokohama Harbor in Nippon Maru Memorial Park. Yokohama is a San Diego Sister City. Included is information from the Institute which details their history and includes photos of the fleet.
