Meissen China Medallion, 2-1/2 inch diameter, with the Coat of Arms of Furstenwalde/Spree, Germany, on one side and milestone dates on the back - 1272 first documentary mention in a deed, 1285 city law, 1536 first council. It is the most populous town in the Oder-Spree District of Brandenburg, Germany. Meissen china is the first European hard-paste porcelain that was developed from 1708 by Ehrenfried Walther von Tschirnhaus. This was donated by a group of mayors from East Germany during their visit to San Diego in February 1996.
