Landmark Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects and the National Trust for Historic Preservation for the 'First San Diego River Improvement Project'. The project was a collaboration by Public Agencies, Engineers, Biologists and Landscape Architects in designing a sustainable and functional flood control system that preserved natural habitat. The lead designer was Wimmer, Yamada and Caughey, a local landscape architecture firm.
