Ceramic cup with '117th Running of the Kentucky Derby' painted on one side and an image of Churchill Downs on the other. The Kentucky Derby is a race for 3-year-old thoroughbreds, held annually in Louisville on the first Saturday in May. The race is 1-1/4 miles at Churchill Downs and is also called 'The Run for the Roses' for the blanket of roses draped over the winner. It is the first leg of the US Triple Crown, followed by the Preakness and Belmont Stakes. Donor's name was not provided to the City Clerk's office.
