Bicycle Counters
In 2021 and 2022, the City installed a permanent "Eco-Counter" bicycle count station on Pacific Highway at West Beech Street Downtown and 30th Street south of University Avenue in North Park . The counter detects people on bikes and scooter users with in-ground loops and displays daily and annual count totals The data can be used in many ways:
- To publicly show how many people are bicycling and make a statement that “bicyclists count”
- The 24/7 data can be used to analyze daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal patterns. This can be used to help extrapolate data from other counts
Here’s how you can see what’s happening:
- GET COUNTED! Ride in the separated bikeway on either side of the street and watch the number increase!
- Pacific Highway
- 30th St
