Officials at the City of San Diego are receiving calls from concerned community members about people claiming to be from the "water department" and trying to "check tap water quality" inside homes. City employees from the Public Utilities Department will NOT enter your home for any reason - to test water, inspect anything, or make repairs. Public Utilities team members NEVER have reason to ask for entry into your home unless you’ve scheduled a water-use survey. We do not sell or endorse commercial products and we do not collect water service payments in person.
