Disaster Preparedness
San Diego's region and climate make the City susceptible to earthquakes, wildfires and flooding, which might result in the interruption of critical services such as power, water and communications. Citizens can minimize the impact of service interruptions by storing enough supplies to be self-sufficient for three to five days without services.
Also available is a community-based program called the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), which helps citizens become part of the solution in their own communities.
