Panel I: Artfully Shifting Perspectives Toward Healthier Communities

Artists and cultural practitioners play a vital role in reinventing how people engage, observe, and think about their health and well-being and the environment in which they live. The remarkable Far South/Border North stories we will explore show how new approaches to designing and implementing creative public awareness campaigns can contribute to shifts in attitude and readiness of individuals and communities to engage in healthy behaviors related to public health and climate and can serve as a frontline resource, raising awareness and inspiring change.
Moderated by Roque Barros, Executive Director, Imperial Valley Wellness Foundation, and Francisco Morales, Casa Familiar Arts & Culture Director. Panelists include:

Activated and engaged communities are important drivers of health equity in campaign design to activate and empower people. At this session, you will hear from the artists and cultural practitioners who have led impactful Far South/Border North campaigns. Their radical rethinking of transdisciplinary work and the creative process has raised critical consciousness and built community, providing measurable benefits to individual and collective health. Their role is not just significant but invaluable in the journey towards health equity.
Moderated by Leah Goodwin, President, Leah Goodwin Creations, and Kamaal Martin, Founder, Art Power Equity. Panelists include:
