CONTRIBUTOR(S):

Dinah Poellnitz

Dinah Poellnitz’s Dear City of Oceanside campaign objective is an in-community art practice project with a focus on social justice and community engagement to create a public safety program that is an inclusive and empowering platform for artistic expression that challenges traditional art spaces to be a solution for public safety and workforce skills. The campaign seeks to facilitate conversations about pressing social justice issues through exhibitions, workshops, discussions, and collaborative projects. Raising awareness and promoting informed dialogue aim to inspire individuals to become active agents of change and create an environment where artists from diverse backgrounds can collaborate and co-create art that reflects the complex realities of their communities. By fostering a collaborative environment that bridges the gap between artists, communities, and social justice causes in communities within Oceanside, the campaign's ultimate goal is to drive tangible and lasting social impact and contribute to a more just and equitable society.
