La Jolla Cove Swim

The La Jolla Cove Swim is one of the oldest open water swims in the United States. 2024 will mark 108 years since the first race was held. There are three events. 250M "Garibaldi Groms Swim, 1 Mile "Sea Lion" Swim and 3 Mile "Leopard Shark" Swim. It has been run almost exclusively by volunteers and community members. The La Jolla Cove Swim is a non-profit event and is operated under The Kiwanis Club of La Jolla, a 501(c)3 organization. Net proceeds from this annual swim, which takes place the first Sunday after Labor Day, will be donated to the Prevent Drowning Foundation of San Diego.
