1914 photo of boys participating in a track event at Rose Park Playground. Rose Park was located in downtown San Diego at 11th and I Streets (now Island Avenue). The photo was found in the 1914 Annual Report of the San Diego Board of Playground Commissioners. The board included Howard B. Bard, President, Mrs. Sara Herron Chaffee, Secretary, Mrs. Grace B. German, Sherwood Wheaton, and Louis J. Wilde. Frank S. Marsh was Superintendent of Playgrounds. Many city organized activities were held at Rose Park.
