Photo of the Balboa Park Administration Building and El Prado entrance, California Tower is in the background. Groundbreaking ceremonies for the 1915-16 Panama-California Exposition were held on July 19, 1911, and the Administration Building was the first one built, completed in March 1912. It was designed by New York architect Bertram Goodhue's assistant, Carleton M. Winslow, Sr., and San Diego draftsman, Harry K. Vaughn. The building later housed the San Diego Museum of Man. Architects with Soltek of San Diego renovated it in 1988-1990.
