U.S. Navy service members crowded into San Diego Stadium for a 1968 Bob Hope USO Show. Bob Hope's contribution to the USO started in 1941 and ended in 1991 during Operation Desert Shield. He dedicated himself to entertaining soldiers, sailors and airmen of the armed forces. His legacy is commemorated by a major sculptural artwork titled 'A National Salute to Bob Hope and the Military' located on Harbor Drive at the G Street Mole looking over San Diego Bay.
