Photo of San Diego's float entry in the 1948 Pasadena Tournament of Roses. The theme of the parade was Holidays in Flowers. During the October 21, 1947, City Council Meeting, the San Diego Junior Chamber of Commerce petitioned the Council to appropriate $3,000 toward the construction of the float. Since funds had already been allocated by the City for that purpose, a motion was approved by Councilman Elmer Blase and seconded by Councilman Charles Wincote.
