What You Should Know
- City of San Diego-approved plans and specifications shall not be changed, modified or altered without authorization from the City.
- All changes, modifications or alterations to approved plans and specifications during construction must be reviewed and approved by the City prior to being incorporated into the construction documents.
- A Deferred As-Graded Geotechnical Report can only be submitted to approved permits that are in Issued or Inspecting status.
Fees
A non-refundable plan check fee at the hourly rate must be paid during the Set-Up Phase of the Deferred As-Graded review. Please refer to Information Bulletin 502, "Fee/Deposit Schedule for Grading/Right-of-Way Permits & Mapping Actions." Additional hourly plan check fees may be assessed by the reviewers as needed.

Step 1
- For Deferred As-Graded submittals to engineering projects that were originally approved as non-digital projects, review the OpenDSD User Guide for PTS Projects.
- For all other Deferred As-Graded submittals, review the User Guide - Apply for an Engineering Permit.
Step 2
Review the requirements for PDF file uploads, and prepare the following documents:
- Grading Plan (As-Built)
- Geotechnical Report (As-Graded)

When submitting plans with your application, you must check the plan sheet numbers before uploading your files.
