Commissioner Octavio Aguilar is a retired Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) and is a graduate of San Diego State University and Georgetown University Law Center. He served as an ALJ with the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board for 23 years before retiring in 2005. Previously, he served as an attorney with the California Agricultural Labor Relations Board and in private practice. He currently resides in Rancho Peñasquitos, in District 5 of the San Diego City Council.
