Francisco Peralta Vargas is a dedicated Community Representative in the office of San Diego City Council President Sean Elo-Rivera, serving the neighborhoods of Azalea Park, Castle, Colina Park, Teralta East, Fairmount Village and Talmadge,  in District 9 of San Diego.  With a commitment to empowering residents, Francisco works tirelessly to facilitate community organization and increase involvement in local government. He is passionate about enhancing representation across community groups that speak Spanish and specially those who have been previously underrepresented.  

Originally from Mexico City and raised in San Diego, Francisco's educational journey includes San Diego High School, San Diego City College, and the University of California, San Diego. At community college, he was actively involved in student government and played a key role in establishing several Dreamer Centers within the San Diego Community College District. In 2020, he graduated from UC San Diego with a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies and International Business. 

Francisco is enthusiastic about business development, having participated in various business incubators, he enjoys learning from entrepreneurial podcasts like NPR's *How I Built This*. In his current role as a community representative, he works closely with several business improvement districts in the City Heights Area.  

In his downtime, Francisco trains for half marathons and enjoys cycling on his road bike. He also enjoys snowboarding and has been doing that every winter for the ten years.
