Chris is Director of City Council Communications who is tasked with informing the public about matters of the City Council to increase transparency and accessibility.  His duties include working with the media and writing the The People’s Business blog, a regular preview of City Council meetings sent to subscribers and social media.   

Before working at the City of San Diego, Chris was a television reporter and producer for over two decades at NBC 7 and TV stations in Hong Kong.  As a journalist, he covered stories including Muslim rebel camps in the Philippines, UN Peacekeeping in East Timor, elections, earthquakes and more. 

Chris earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and a Master’s Degree from Washington State University.  He spends his spare time playing music and traveling with his wife and two children.
