Sara is a Community Representative for San Diego City Council President Sean Elo-Rivera. She represents the communities of Kensington, Normal Heights, and Rolando Village. Sara began her journey in community work while attending San Diego State University (2019). She volunteered for local non-profit organizations assisting immigrants and refugees. With Sara’s passion for community work and her own experience as a first generation Syrian-American, she continued working at local non-profit organizations across San Diego after completing university. Sara has worked as a community organizer, community health worker, and now, community representative. She firmly believes that all people should have access to basic necessities, regardless of their background. In her free time, Sara enjoys traveling (she’s lived on three continents and visited over 20 countries!), sourcing vintage clothing for her online shop, and laying on the beach.
