Manuel Reyes, MIA
Manuel Reyes serves as Policy Advisor and Community Representative for Councilmember Jennifer Campbell. He is the Councilmember's public safety advisor, LGBTQ liaison, and oversees constituent services for Ocean Beach and South Clairemont.
Manuel attended UC San Diego's School of Global Policy and Strategy where he earned a Master of International Affairs in addition to a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. Manuel enjoys continuing to learn and grow as a young, civic leader in San Diego. He recently completed the Young Professional Council Academy at The San Diego LGBT Center and he is currently enrolled in the Chicano Federation of San Diego County's Leadership Training Institute. Prior to his role at the City, he was an External Affairs Intern at the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce working to make San Diego the best place to work and live. Manuel, also, volunteered for two years as a Special Assistant at AfghanEvac, a San Diego based organization working on Afghan refugee relocation efforts and he was recently selected to be a part of the San Diego Diplomacy Council's DEI Advisory Committee.
Manuel was born and raised in San Diego. He is the son of Mexican immigrants from the avocado and carnitas capital of the world and home of the monarch butterfly, Michoacán. Manuel is proud of his upbringing and hopes to continue growing within the field of government.
