Proclamation measuring 15 x 10 inches with the Presidential Seal and signed by President William Clinton proclaiming August 26, 1999, as Women's Equality Day. Among other advances for women, it commemorated the 79th anniversary of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution which guaranteed women the right to vote, and the 35th anniversary of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which prohibits discrimination on the basis of gender. This was sent to the Mayor by President Clinton.
