Lithograph in a 23 x 19-inch frame - Ballast Point Whaling Station (1820s), by watercolor artist Jay Wegter. Upon Mexican independence in 1810, and later abandonment of California by Mexico in 1822, Punta Guijarros became known as Ballast Point and the whaling industry was established. Donated by House of Spain and the Fort Guijarros Museum Foundation, June 28, 2013. Donation was arranged by Jesus Benayas, President, House of Spain, for the Mayor's visit at the 210th anniversary of the Battle of San Diego Bay on April 21, 2013.
