Book titled 'The Story of San Diego de Alcala, His Life, His Canonization and His Legacy' by Thomas E. Case. It is the story of a simple friar who became known for his simplicity and charity, the first Spanish Franciscan saint. The City of San Diego is named after him as well as Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala, the first of the great California Missions, which marks the birthplace of Christianity in the far West. It is California's first church. The book is written in both Spanish and English. Donated by the author.
