Photo, 9 x 7 inches, of the Donald P. Shiley BioScience Center - SDSU, inscribed 'With deep appreciation for your support'. This commemorated the Center's dedication in 2012, which was renamed in honor of the inventor and philanthropist Donald P. Shiley as the result of a $5 million gift from his widow, Darlene Shiley. Donald Shiley invented the Bjork-Shiley heart valve that has been credited with saving lives since the 1970s. This was presented to Mayor Sanders by San Diego State University on March 6, 2012.
