Wooden 6 x 7-inch plaque with the insignia of Chinese PLA Navy Task Group 171. It is stored in a 8-1/2 inch square velvet lined box. The Chinese flotilla, Task Group 171, arrived at Naval Base San Diego on August 10, 2014, for a five-day visit after its participation in the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise off Hawaii, the world's largest maritime military drill. This was presented to the Mayor by Rear Admiral Shen Jinlong, Commander, People's Liberation Army Navy, Task Group 171, and President of the Naval Command College.
