Wooden plaque, 4-1/2 x 6-1/2 inches, presented to Mayor O'Connor for supporting San Diego's Human Dignity Ordinance. In 1989 the Gay / Lesbian Advisory Committee was formed. Their first task was creating the HDO to ban discrimination in employment, housing, city services, business establishments and education to protect the rights of transgender people. The ordinance was approved on April 3, 1990, and took effect on May 16, 1990. This was presented to the Mayor by the HDO Task Force.
