Wooden model of a Pinisi, Lamba type, a traditional Indonesian two-masted sailing ship. This type of Pinisi is the one currently surviving in its motorized version. First built in the 1600's, they were used for transport, as sailing boats, and as warships. Today, Pinisi are used for trade and often frequent traditional ports, such as Sunda Kelapa port in Jakarta, Surabaya, Banjarmasin, and the port of Makassar. This was donated by Rudy A. Lamadjido, Mayor of Palu City, Indonesia, while in San Diego to attend a trade mission.
