Hahoe Korean masks. Yangban is the aristocratic character from traditional mask-plays, or talchum. Bune is a flirty young woman, appearing as the concubine of Yangban or of Sonbi, a scholar. Masks were believed to have magical powers to protect the village. Donated by the City of Jeonju, Republic of Korea, a San Diego Sister City.
