Kagami Crystal, Edokiriko pattern, 120cc glass set, red and blue, stored in an 8 x 4-inch wooden box. This was presented to the Mayor at the gala for the thirteenth Kyoto Prize Symposium on March 17, 2015. The Kyoto Prize is Japan's highest private award for global achievement. The Prize has been awarded annually since 1985 by the Inamori Foundation, founded by Kazuo Inamori, given in the fields of Advanced Technology, Basic Sciences and Arts and Philosophy. Three students from San Diego County and three from Tijuana received 2015 awards.
