Its main tasks are to maintain control of the nation's sea lanes and to patrol territorial waters. The training squadron periodically docks in San Diego as part of its overseas training activities. The 1968 cruise was conducted under Rear Admiral S. Ohkama, Commander, Training Squadron. Donated by the Japanese Training Squadron.
