Banner with the emblem of the city of Mairie de Kiriat Malachi, Israel, the 'City of Angels'. It was established in 1951 as a tent city for the Jewish immigrants who arrived during the early days of the state, many of them part of the Jewish exodus from Arab lands. The name was chosen to honor the Jewish community of Los Angeles, which contributed much of the funding for its establishment. This was donated by Moshe Shimon Shimi, Mayor of Kiriat Malachi, in 1996. Occasion information was not provided to the City Clerk's office.
