Algae surfboard created by UC San Diego scientists - the world's first algae-based, sustainable surfboard. The board bas logos from UCSD, Arctic Foam, Solazyme, the California Center for Algae Biotechnology, the U.S. Department of Energy, which funded the research, and the Biofuels Action Awareness Network. This was publicly unveiled at Copley Hall at the premiere of National Geographic's 'World's Smart Cities: San Diego', a documentary about San Diego's quality of life, innovation economy and environmental consciousness.
