12 x 16 inch wall calendar titled 'Ikebana 1997' published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan. Ikebana, meaning living flowers, is the traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement and is also known as kado - the way of flowers. The photos contained in the calendar are from four schools of Ikebana art - Ikenobo, Ko-ryu, Ohara-ryu and Sogetsu-ryu. Three of these (all identical) were mailed to the Mayor by Consul General Shotaro Yachi, Japan Information and Culture Center, Los Angeles, California.
