Yokohama 1990 Year Plate, 13-inch diameter with gold trim. The 'Steel Bridge' scene is one of a series of six paintings by Sadahide, a leading artist of Yokohama Ukiyoe. 'Yoshida bashi' (bridge), originally wooden, became famous as Japan's first steel bridge after it was redesigned in 1869. It is a well-known landmark in Yokohama. The plate was created by Hiroshi Masuda of Masuda Art, Yokohama Motomachi, a district of Naka Ward in Yokohama, Japan. This was donated by the City of Yokohama, Japan, a San Diego Sister City since 1957.
