The People's Business - January 24, 2021

Councilmembers will consider a six-month extension of the COVID-19 Recovery and Response Committee.  They will also vote on a resolution which establishes the City’s compensation philosophy.

City Council Meeting – January 25, 2022 – 10 a.m.

10 a.m. – Minutes, Consent Agenda, ceremonial proclamations, Closed Session public comment, non-agenda public comment


11 a.m. – Closed Session


2 p.m. – Discussion Agenda


 


14 items fill the Consent Agenda including the extension of the Special Issues COVID-19 Response and Recovery Committee for an additional six months.


 


Ceremonial Proclamations:


Item 30 – SD Lunar New Year Festival Week recognizes the upcoming celebration of the Lunar New Year by the Little Saigon Foundation and by numerous other ethnic Asian groups around the world.


 


Item 31 – E.T. Perry Day  celebrates the 100th birthday of a man who has dedicated decades of his life to volunteering for the benefit San Diego residents.


 


Item 32 – Anna L. McPherson Day honors this City employee’s 35 years of dedicated service in the Planning Department and the Developmental Services Department.


 


Item 33 – Kyle Elser Day recognizes this dedicated assistant City Auditor for nearly 27 years of public service performing accounting and auditing duties while developing and mentoring staff.


 


Item S501 – Jeff Kawar Day celebrates Jeff’s 32 years of service with the Financial Management Department and the Office of the City Treasurer, among other Departments.  He currently serves as the Interim Director of the Office of the Independent Budget Analyst.

Item 330 - Resolution Establishing the City of San Diego's Compensation Philosophy – A Compensation Philosophy is a formal written statement documenting an organization’s intent regarding employee total compensation. The City’s Compensation Philosophy reflects the current compensation objectives and guiding principles that drive how the City intends to approach compensation for City employees.


 


 


HarperItem 332 – Harper Residence – Project No. 665412 – The project requests a Coastal Development Permit and Site Development Permit for the demolition of an existing single-family dwelling unit and construction of a new 4,964-square-foot single-family dwelling unit above a 3,290 square foot subterranean garage located at 8455 El Paseo Grande within the La Jolla Shores Planned District-Single-Family Zone of the La Jolla Community Plan.
