Council Meeting Agenda

Item 200 - Consideration of Policy Issues Related to the Implementation of the Commission on Police Practices – On November 3, 2020, City of San Diego voters approved Measure B to establish the Commission on Police Practices, which supersedes the City’s Community Review Board on Police Practices.

The draft implementation ordinance covers Commission composition, member qualifications, member appointment and removal processes, and definitions.  It also has provisions on records and subpoenas, the requirements of City employees to cooperate with the Commission, community outreach and accountability, Commission operating procedures, whistleblower protections, and provisions intended to ensure an effective oversight body.

As always, supporting documents can be found on the agenda.
