PRINCIPAL PERFORMANCE AUDITOR

Megan Jaffery joined the Office of the City Auditor in March 2013 and was promoted to Principal Performance Auditor in October 2023. Throughout her tenure, she has worked on many audits, covering a broad spectrum of subjects, including real estate, towing, stormwater, street maintenance, customer service, and more. She has also worked on Knighton Award winning audits, including the Performance Audit of the City’s Code Enforcement Division of the Development Services Department and the Performance Audit of the City’s Major Building Acquisition Process. As a Principal Performance Auditor, Megan leads teams of talented audit staff to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and equity of various City of San Diego programs and processes.   

Megan feels that working in performance auditing is her way of giving back to the community and performing public service. Originally from Riverside, California, she has a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Master of Public Policy from Pepperdine University.
