Holiday Schedule for City Offices and Services
Memorial Day on Monday, May 25, 2026
Please note the following impacts on City offices and services:
Trash Collection
ONE-DAY DELAY for curbside trash, recyclables, and yard waste.
Monday's normally scheduled collection will occur on Tuesday; Tuesday's regularly scheduled collection will take place on Wednesday, and so on.
Applicable to residents serviced by the City of San Diego only. Residents not serviced by the City of San Diego or residents of other cities, should check with their waste hauler for holiday service schedules.
The Miramar Landfill, Greenery, Recycling Center and Mattress Collection Site will be CLOSED.
The Environmental Services Department's customer service office will be CLOSED on Monday. Regular hours will resume Tuesday; with added hours of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. the Saturday following the holiday.

Library
All libraries will be CLOSED on Monday, May 25, and will reopen on Tuesday, May 26.
Parks & Recreation
Golf courses will be OPEN on Monday, May 25. Holiday rates will apply.
Barrett Reservoir will be CLOSED on Monday, May 25. All other City reservoirs will be OPEN during regular operating hours.
Chollas Lake will be OPEN, weather permitting.
Mission Trails Regional Park and Mission Trails Regional Park Visitors Center will be OPEN on Monday, May 25.
All skate parks and the Pacific Highlands Ranch Pump Track at 5977 Village Center Loop Rd. will be OPEN, on Monday, May 25.
Public buildings in Balboa Park will be CLOSED on Monday, May 25, including:
- Balboa Park Activity Center
- Botanical Building
- Morley Field
- Municipal Gym
Check with individual museums and other park attractions for their holiday schedules.
All City recreation centers and City pools will be CLOSED on Monday, May 25, and will reopen on their typical schedule starting Tuesday, May 26.
Tecolote Canyon Natural Park will be OPEN.
Tecolote Nature Center will be CLOSED on Monday, May 25, and will reopen on Tuesday, May 26.
Open Space, Permit Center and Maintenance Assessment District Offices will be CLOSED on Monday, May 25.
City Offices
All Administrative Offices will be CLOSED on Monday, May 25.
The Office of the City Clerk will be closed on Monday, May 25. Passport Services will not be available for customers served by the Office of the City Clerk.
Development Services Department (DSD) will be CLOSED on Monday, May 25. Normal operations will resume on Tuesday, May 26.
- Online services will still be available, including scheduling inspections, making payments or requesting code enforcement investigations.
- Check online permit processing timelines for intake, review and permit issuance.
The Personnel Department's Testing and Fingerprinting offices will be CLOSED on Monday, May 25.
Your Safe Place - A Family Justice Center will be CLOSED on Monday, May 25.
Individuals needing help related to domestic violence should call the Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-888-385-4657. Anyone experiencing immediate danger or a medical emergency should call 9-1-1.

There will be no street sweeping on Monday May 25.
Public Safety
Police and Fire emergency crews will not be impacted.
Station 38 (Citywide emergency dispatch center) will be on duty.
