Danielle Novokolsky
SENIOR COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
Danielle Novokolsky joined the San Diego Office of the City Auditor in November 2015 as a Performance Auditor. In March 2021, Danielle transitioned from a Senior Performance Auditor role to a Communications Specialist role. In this capacity, Danielle combines her nearly 10 years of government auditing experience with her writing, copyediting, and graphic design skills to improve OCA work products and provide teams with valuable insight regarding how to craft their messages.
Prior to joining the Office of the City Auditor, Danielle worked at the California State Auditor for three years. Danielle has performed a variety of high-profile State and local audits, including a State audit of California universities’ handling of sexual harassment and sexual violence, which received a 2015 Certificate of Impact from the National Legislative Program Evaluation Society; a local audit of the City of San Diego’s programs to improve pedestrian safety, which received a 2016 Distinguished Winner Knighton Award from the Association of Local Government Auditors; a local audit of the City of San Diego’s efforts to address homelessness; and a local audit of the City of San Diego’s implementation of its Climate Action Plan.
Danielle has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a minor in Political Science from UCLA, as well as a Certificate in Copyediting from UCSD Extension.
