Category Definitions
The City of San Diego is responsible for the operation of municipal services: libraries, parks and recreation centers, public works construction, public safety (fire, lifeguards, paramedics, police), water and sewer service, and for the maintenance of City-owned streets and facilities. The City of San Diego does not operate the bus or trolley systems, museums, schools, hospitals, jails or the zoo.
